ADSL - Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. The most common residential type of broadband connection.
ADSL2 - As above but even faster.
HDSL - High Speed Digital Subscriber Line.
SDSL - Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line.
Browser - A browser is a program used to view pages on the internet. Commonly used browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox and Apple Safari.
Churning - This is the rapid transfer of your broadband internet account from one provider to another.
IP Address - Internet Protocol Address is a numeric definition of a computer on the internet. Each machine has its own unique number.
Spam - Junk mail usually in the form of advertising sent to you by email in the attempt to get your personal details. Never answer this type of email.
Virus - Computer viruses are malicious programs, designed to attack or corrupt your computer files. A bad virus can delete files or slow down the operation of the computer. Emails are a common way for viruses to enter your computer.
